Over many years, The Grove has run a trauma-informed psychotherapy practice which has proved hugely beneficial for its clients. We have developed a trauma treatment toolkit for client work.
Building on our clinical expertise and our long-established training programmes for mental health professionals, The Grove has gathered world-leading experts in the field of psychological trauma to teach therapists not only how to assess for trauma, PTSD, and Complex PTSD, but also to provide participants with a toolkit of techniques for trauma-informed talking therapy. This toolkit is aligned with the NICE guidelines, by including an evidence-based protocol for Trauma-Focused CBT (Cognitive Processing Therapy or CPT).
Additionally, attendees will learn how to deal with dissociation and blocks to effective therapy, along with mind-body approaches for emotional regulation and symptom stabilisation: this includes training to Level 2 in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, or “tapping” with a trainer accredited by EFT International).
The course is taught by a line-up of facilitators including Dr Walter Busuttil (Director of Medical Services at Combat Stress), Phil Mollon (renowned trainer in energy psychology), and Ashley Meyer (accredited EFT trainer). The tutor team is led by two certified clinical trauma practitioners and directors of The Grove: Sarah Paton Briggs and Elliot Davis, along with The Grove's Medical Director, Dr James Kustow.
